From my view, why commonly percieved "hot" girls end up with a guy who let himself go (and you scratch your head), it won't ONLY be because 'its on the inside that counts', but because she has self image issues and fears letting herself go at some point thus coming into line with his physical appearance wouldnt be a big deal.
